Land Conservation Act 1960

An act to consolidate the law relating to the conservation of hill land and the protection of soil from erosion and the inroad of silt.

Section 1 : need to be adopted by the states.

Section 3 : Hill areas need to be gazetted.

Section 5 : Prohibits short-term crop in hill land except under permit.

Section 6 : Prohibits land clearing of hill land unless under permit.

Section 11 : Power to control sources of soil erosion.
